Koning Carlos - Roert!

Roert! is a very loose stage adaptation of Hermann Hesse's partly autobiographical novel Der Steppenwolf.

Live music, playwriting, acting and video-imagery merge in a breathtaking way in the performance of Roert!

The videosequences projected behind the performers capture and translate the emotions of main character Herman in a magnificent way.

Numerous shattering particles emerge when his brain explodes like a clusterbomb, and many replicas of himself march with him, as he goes to battle with his imaginary legion in a delusion of grandeur.

‘Roert!’ is a theatrical experience that stands out, a striking insight in the dark matter of the human psyche.

an overwhelming mix of images and sound

The most noticible aspect of Roert! is the audiovisual virtuosity of the creators.

...a theatrical hallucination.
