Re-sign / contemporary monuments
Factories were once the heart and soul of communities at the dawn of the 20th century. They were the pride of society at that time and held a promise of longlasting prosperity.
Near the Piushaven in Tilburg the monumental AaBe-complex still remains. The people have dissapeared, the engines are mostly gone and only an impressive emptiness resonates. From these spaces many warm blankets were spread throughout the world but at this moment in time, nature is fighting it's way in.
Only one single blanket remains; a cover of dust on the eroded parts of the once booming textileindustry of Tilburg.
With Re-sign, LADDS is planning to breath new life into these forgotten giants. The spaces will be occupied again by large artworks and installations that never existed in reality.
work in progress / ladds / scheduled for production march - september 2010
